Standard Codec and Compression ?

I've had this question for sometime but I've never gotten a answer. I've Googled it and nothing ever really comes up. So for all the editors on this forum, what is or what do you think is the standard for exporting (Codec & Container) a film for a digital theater ?

I just want to be able to export my films, for festivals and other possible theaters, with the lease amount of quality loss. I did found one statement online that said, Mpeg2 is consider the standard compression for theaters. is this true or is there more to it ?

I know for the online community such as YouTube and Vimeo, H.264 has pretty much become the standard export but what is it for digital projection theaters ?

Most films get exported as DPX files, which are then used to create DCP packages for cinemas.

That is absolutely untrue.

JPEG2000 with unique settings is the main one. AVID has output for that as well as most NLE's in some form.
