Did Jibjab rip off my video?

I had created a comedy short back in 1984 called "Scrambled Eggs". It was seen on national TV back in the 80's and has been online since 1998. There is now a series of shorts of Jibjab called "Eggs".

What do you guys think? Was my original idea plagiarized? Go here to see a comparison:

I would guess it's probably just coincidence, but it is interesting.. The newer one looks like a cross between your video and one of the "Thumb" videos (Thumb wars, Thumbtanic, etc)

Probably coincidence. I'm a firm believer in that there are no new ideas only new ways of presenting ideas. Not a popular opinion from a copyright holders point of view but still.

From my view, it looks like a blatant rip off (or "homage" if you will). I could see someone doing a similar idea, but the shots and story beats are nearly identical.

It's also quite possible this guy saw your version in the 80s and it stuck in his subconscious mind only to resurface as this idea. Perhaps it is a ripoff that he unknowingly produced.. It's hard to say unless you talk to the guy and find out where he got the idea.

They look pretty similar to me. Up to and including some word for word dialogue.
