Dialogue Scene

Hello fellow filmmakers,

I've planned a shoot which requires me to film a fairly long dialogue scene. It will be based in one location and the video is basically just two characters talking to each other.

Have you any tips and tricks for me to do this in the best possible way so the shots do not end up looking boring and repetitive?

If the place presents some beautiful scenery, has a metaphorical meaning, turn around your actors, camera in hand until you find a nice spot. Shoot the whole dialogue from that spot and then do the usual shot/countershot.

You can also include some slider movement to give the scene more strength if needed.

It really depends of the dialogue. Are they standing . sitting ? looking at each other ? looking in the same direction ? close to each other or a few feets away ? and most importantly, what is being said because no matter what, your cinematographic choices need to be consistent with that. Your camera placement has to be telling something.
