watch Demo Reel

Nice shots, but much of it very similar. I liked the combination of the long shot of the folks shooting over the railing, the staircase, the car chases and some of the closer shots, but the closer shots were overwhelmingly stylized similarily. As someone shopping for a DP, I'd want to see more variety so I'd know whether or not you'd be able to adapt to different visions and styles once you hit set. The shots you had were good (adding - some were really good), but it really only allows you to work on one type of film.

I thought it was excellent. Where the hell were you when I was looking for a DP for my movie? I'm in the 732 area code too.

Ok, so lets say I make the suggested changes, where do I go from there. I'm trying to get some jobs if any, and after applying, I'm not getting any replies really.

Check out my resume if you got a chance and let me know if there's something wrong with it. I'm practically now even just looking for PA work, anything that can get me into the industry. Any words of advice? When you apply for a crew position online, where do you link them to your demo reel? In the cover letter? In the resume?

In this business (especially this business) it's 95% rejection. I received over 30 people applying for my DP position, and a hell of a lot more for acting. I would have liked to respond personally to all of them. But, I don't have time.

So, keep applying for everything you're capable of doing, and eventually someone will call. You have a good reel. While I would have worries about the reel, some might look at it and wonder about all the bad acting. But, unless you're the director that doesn't matter.

Nice reel! I do agree with Knightly, many similar medium, closeup, and closed shots. I'd like to see more master, establishing shots. Also, I don't quite agree with ussinners about the quality of acting and it not having an effect on your reel. The couple of shots with the halting martial arts stuff towards the end was a bit comical and really doesn't suit the rest of your reel. JMO, of course. Good Luck, Alex!
