David Lowery (Cracker etc) on File-Sharing

Lowery's perspective is an interesting one and as you say, he's very articulate about it. He knows about this stuff because he's lived through it. I did stop reading the blog because it was a bit of "preaching to the choir" for me, but it is excellent reading.

And Camper Van Beethoven is an old favorite of mine :) Saw them live once and they did an amazing version of "She Divines Water", extending the cut-up/jam section. Almost everyone in the band had a laptop to trigger sounds and samples...it was mind-blowing!
 
It's interesting what he says about the younger generation expecting to get things for free. I think this isn't something that's limited to the younger generation, or to music and films, it's an increasing trend.
Ask any writer how many times they've been asked to write something for free, or, more often, 'for the recognition'.
