Crowdfunding - Seed & Spark v. Kickstarter, Indiegogo

I saw this discussion on Reddit. I'd never heard of Seed & Spark but it seems to be a very good alternative to Kickstarter & Indiegogo. Someone that seems to be an entertainment attorney gives the reasons he prefers it.

Because with 'all or nothing' projects the backers know they get their money back when the campaign fails.
Because people trust known platforms

Which of the major platforms give money back if the campaign fails?
GoFundMe?

KickStarter, S&S, IGG.
That is why it is called a pledge.
The money is kept on a '3rd party account' that can not be touched unless the campaign succeeds. The backers get their money back if the campaign fails.
(This does not apply to flexible funding projects.)
