This is probably a ridiculously stupid qusetion to ask but I've just finished shooting my first short and need to know how to credit somebody. They were helping carry kit and set up and generally being useful and I'm not sure what the correct title might be?!? Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks man that'll fit. I'm pretty much a complete novice with this and with the help of some friends who have already made a couple of movies I've written and produced my first short so it's all a big learning curve. I was a little nervous about posting something so stupid?!? Thanks again.

Very true... I ask schtuff all the time but that's what this place is all about. Ask a question and someone will probably know the answer... Don't hold back on the questions. EVERYONE learns from the answers. I learn stuff everyday on this site. That's why I'm here everyday. I answer what I know and subscribe to the thread if I don't. Why? So I'll LEARN the answer along with the person who asked it!
So ask away!
Yeah I know what you mean...I'm so glad I discovered this site. A lot of really talented and interesting people and I'm sure I'm gonna learn a lot whilst I'm hacking away at my little movies and chatting with you folks on here.
That's one of the first things I learned when I got here.
Just shoot it.
Doesn't matter what. Heck, do test shots if anything else. The better you know your camera and what it can do the better movies you make. The more mistakes you fumble over the more you learn.
I remember some talk about doing this and I still think it would be a great learning experience; everybody shoot the same short contest. I'd love to see all the different interpretations of the same story. I think it would be a huge learning tool too.
Then again they just changed my meds so...
yeah I'd be up for that, anyone wanna suggest some ideas and we'll all do our own things with it.
Yeah I've started writing but I might be pushed to get it finished by the end of october! Trying my best though...

Crediting someone is very important. If they worked during production for a day and did "whatever the 1st AD needed", we called them a Prodcution assistant, and reimbursed them for gas at least $25 for the day. If they worked during pre-prodcution and drove their cars around town to deliver and pickup stuff, they might be called a "runner".
In addition, just a section of "Thanks to: (lots of names)" was used in the post credits for everyone else.
