editing Create flash from gun fire

I need to create a flash from a gunfire. Is there an effect like this already in Final Cut Pro 6 or any way to create it? If not, any good place to download this type of optical effect?

Theres a few freebies out there. Grab a file type with an alpha channel if possible, and one that matches the angle of the gun (camera looking straight down the barrel, to the side, etc) Set the image file to last only one frame in FCP and position it at the end of the gun. Sometimes a little blur and color/level variation helps also.
