Courtroom Scene

I have one scene that takes place in a courtroom. Is this possible to do without building a set?

In The Social Network they used a boardroom, but would something like that be believable for a murder/fraud trial?

Have you inquired at a local Courthouse? Maybe you could get permission for something after hours in one of the courtrooms?

I'm thinking you'd have to get some permission though. Depending on what your budget is, see if you can find a historical courthouse nearby that is now mainly for tourism-you might be able to work something out with them for a fee.

Depends on where the story is set. Some cities have historic courtrooms, some have rooms with fluorescent lighting and folding chairs.

Yea, nothing says 1940's court drama like Flourescent lighting! (I don't know if his drama is set then or not).

That's a huge point to consider!

Yeah, I'm totally on a microbudget. The historic courtroom thing sounds like a good idea.
