Cost?

I'm interested in building my own post computer, but wondering how much it would cost (money's really tight)...

i'm looking to make a computer for my analog VHS-C camera...what do you think it would cost for a good computer (i'll need it for editing, writing, etc.) with and without software (some recommendations for good/cheap software for all aspects of filmmaking would be nice)

Well I think you could get away with 512mb of RAM. But you're going to need a Video Capture Card. That might cost you $200 to $300 itself. I'm thinking of one of the ATI All-In-Wonder cards.

So Total for a PC with the RAM, 2 hard drives, the AIW card, and CD/DVD burner I'd say $500 to $700

Others may have better or different advice, but that's ballpark in my eyes.

You could always ask if any of us could edit it for you..... If that's what you want ofcorse
