Coppola with what camera ?

Hi lads

I'm also considering a brief foray into 8mm but not really sure wich camera to get as the choice is overwhelming, unlike with digital. So I remembered this image of GOD (aka Coppola) accompanying an interview with him in some dutch mag, beautifull image and very godly lookin camera . Anyone any idea what camera this is ? looks like its manual winding? would be a bummer

It might be the Bell and Howell Model 70 or even the 35mm Eyemo. But
with that strap on the bottom (he's holding it upside down) I'm leaning
towards the Model 70.

Ah I see , it sure looks a lot like it. thanks for lookin it up ! :) but these are really like REALLY old cameras, and very hard to come by when I did a search, and looks like a brick, weighs like one as well I think?.
Seems sensible to look for a more recent (super)8mm model, agree ?
As I'm becoming more acqainted with all the formats , 16mm now seems more interesting now (and more widely available), but I think thats for more serious shooting, so let me get some ideas/screenplays on paper first ;)

Yep. That's an old camera.

Most 16mm cameras are much heavier than current DV cameras.
The lenses alone are usually heavier than current DV cameras.
They were built in a different time and built to last for decades.

I guess it depends on what you mean by sensible. Super 8 cameras
are less expensive than 16mm and so is the stock and processing.
If the weight of the camera is an issue then super 8 is the more
sensible choice.
