Check out this great video with Brian Langsbard (read the bio on the video for his crazy list of credits).

He gives a great insight into finding a composer and hiring one if you don't have much of a budget. He also touches on not using composers like library music.

Filmmakers should definitely watch this if they want to hear some real world advice about collaborating with a composer.

This is a really really good video. It applies to film but also to any kind of media project such as games. I will be using this video to teach people I work with how to work with me. Haha
(Often I have more experience than the people I work with so I have to teach them how the process goes).
