Cleaning a camera

I've been using my Canon Xl2 around the ocean a lot and I'm concerned with salt in the air. For people who shoot outdoors a lot or in extreme conditions do you have procedures for cleaning your camera afterwords? All that I've been doing is taking a keyboard air-blaster to it to get dust/sand particles off of it...

For the lens Formula MC is the absolute best.

I'm pretty paranoid after getting so close to the ocean so often... I've been looking at weather and dirt guards as well.

Oh and before you clean your lens with the tissue paper make sure there are no particles on it that can scratch it. This brush works well and it's by the same manufacturer. Check out their products you can get a nice kit with a lot of good cleaning stuff.
