As the song is called Circus the imagery is self explanatory

A little on the nose, don't you think? (Pun intended, but really...)

I only watched about half because I cannot stand rap, and that's as far as I could force myself to go. What I saw, though, was literal video. Mention a lion, show a lion. Mention the crowd, show the crowd. Mention cotton candy, show cotton candy.

A more metaphorical representation of life's circus, without such literal interpretation, would be more effective.
