Canon XL1 vs. sony hxr mc50. how do they compare i know the former came out earlier so i'm not sure if all its capabilities has simply been compressed into the latter.

Canon XL1- i found for about 900 but its used so i dont know how it works with warranty just in case

sony hxr mc50- i found new for about 1400
