Actually though, it would help to know how far you need the "zoom". $200 doesn't get you very close to far away things.

50mm f1.8 is good for $100-150 BUT it isn't a Zoom lens, I know of no good zoom lenses that cheap
I got a full set of 18-55 (kit lens from a friend), 28-80 ($5 + $5 adaptor ring), and 80-200 ($10 + $5 adaptor ring)... non-EF lenses are selling in pawnshops for really cheap all the time (e-bay as well)... then just get an adaptor with them. They'll be manual lenses, but you don't want auto for video anyway.
