Canon EOS 7D and FCP7 No idea!!!

Okay guys, I just bought an EOS 7D because i've always really liked the quality.
and im like super stoked on it.

I just filmed some stuff.

but now...

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO IMPORT IT ON TO FCP7!!

someone please help! Thanks!

Import through the program image capture off the camera to a HDD, then import into FCP7.

If you want a better editing experience, use compressor (or whatever software you want, if you have FCP7 then you have compressor) to batch convert all the files to ProRes or a playable format and import those. FCP7 doesn't handle native DSLR footage well, every cut, move, delete or new clip means an entire new render.

compressor... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-HDvJX_VQs

canon did release an import plugin for the log and capture facility within FCP7, should be some type of google search that will find it for you -- can't find it at first glance... I didn't have success with it, but I've tried it precisely once.

Any tips on exporting in full HD on fcp too?
Sorry I'm such a newb. I just have never have had to deal with
such quality footage before haha.

I'd also use compressor for that as well... From FCP, export as quicktime (not converted) with current settings and self contained, then use compressor to change it to whatever delivery format you're looking for.
