Google is my friend... It can definitely ruin a CMOS sensor, wow. Always look before you leap!.. whew, I would have been so sad if I mess it up.

Uh, yeah. There are videos out there of people shooting concerts and their camera sensor dies when a laser hits the CMOS chip....

Thank you! Every time this thread pops up, all I can think about is sharks with freakin laser beams attached to their heads.

Rob, you thinking of shooting at a concert? Could a matte-box help, or might the lasers be lower to the ground?

There's gotta be a filter of some kind out there.

Or maybe have a talk with the lighting guy and say something like "Dude, my dad's a lawyer, you're gonna get a lawsuit if you keep shining lasers into the audiences eyes." lol
