7d is the new big thing - 1,800 - handheld, but has great picture
or
HMC40 - 2,000 - semi pro, AMC card
both 1080p 24fps
other than that, you're not going to get anything pro grade HD. Actually, you may be able to get a GL...3? dunno. Neither have XRL inputs either, you'd have to get separate adapters. BH has some stuff. I would be nervous about anything with less than 1/3ccd - (fraction wise, 1/4 is less than 1/3)
In all reality though, you obviously don't know what you're looking for and it sounds like you're going to throw your money away on something you don't know how to use - most people do, its no big deal - butttt, you may be able to get a SD camera with more advanced features. While the pic may not look as good, you will have more of an opportunity to learn the advanced functionality, so on your next purchase, you know what to buy. I dunno - what you get for 2000$ in HD, doesn't have anywhere near the control of the DVX, or XL1 series
Pretty much as noted above, for that number you can get an older (XL1, GL1, XL2, GL2) SD prosumer camera, or a consumer grade HD. Not gonna get a prosumer HD at that price point.
