Camera choices

I'm posting here today because I need a bit of advice on the matter of cameras. Im currently working on a short war film called Pathfinders: The Fall of europe (working title) and trying to move through pre-production as quickly as possible. I need to make a decision on what cameras to work with as my broadcasting school has several different models that i can use on this production.

I was hoping someone with a bit of camera savvy could tell me the strength and weaknesses and what differences in image quality they might have. Also will it make much difference shooting with two different cameras (i assume so but im not sure how similar the cameras are). The models i have access to are:

DSR 500 (5 available)
DSR 570 (5 available)
HDX900 (3 available)
PD100 (1 available)
PD150 (2 available)

Thanks in advance
Michael

Welcome Michael.

The DSR-500 is the best of those cameras. And since you have five
to choose from that’s the camera I would suggest you use.

Because you are currently in broadcasting school you have the
opportunity to test each model with different models. That way you
can see for yourself what differences there are when shooting with
two different cameras. After all, that’s what broadcasting school
is all about - learning about broad casting.

The short war film sounds interesting. What are you doing on it?
Are you the director of photography?
