Boompole

I was browsing through the boompoles on amazon and it seems that the budget ones are around 2m in length.

Is 2 metres long enough? Or should I go for a longer length, as I would benefit more from it during the long term?

Thanks!

It depends entirely upon what you are shooting. Two (2) meters (six [6] feet) is really short. For narrative work get something at least 10' (3+ meters); that will take care of most needs for low/no/mini/micro budget filmmakers. If you're going to be doing audio work on a professional level you should be thinking more in terms of 15' to 20' (approx. 5 meters to 7 meters).
