books about filmmaking

I know someone here has mentioned a few books about filmmaking but I can't find the threads. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

I haven't seen them but I have to give props to Danny Draven's 'Filmmaker's Book of the Dead' - an interesting, funny, concise guide to low-budget horror filmaking that covers a lot of ground - nothing too deep or insightful but useful nonetheless.

Hey Gooberman,

That seems really broad.

For directing, I found these two valuable:
- On Film-Making, Mackendrick
- Film Directing Fundamentals, Proferes

There are many production books, this one has been useful:
- Producing and Directing the Short Film and Video, Irving

Was there some specific part of filmmaking you were looking in regards to?...

Iv been reading "Naked Filmmaking: How To Make A Feature-Length Film - Without A Crew - For $10,000 Or Less" By Mike Carrol. Its pretty good. Filled with everything from lighting to equipment to working with actors. It covers a lot of great topics.
