Best way to get a GH2?

Now that the GH2 has been discontinued for quite awhile, I was just curious if you guys got any tips for picking up a GH2. I searched around for a while but couldn't find anything exactly pertaining to this topic on this forum. So is eBay literally all that's left? Because that is the only thing I have been checking for it and haven't really found much else besides the ones on eBay. There isn't anything wrong with eBay for me but was just curious if there are some alternatives.

Also I had a question about how much I should be looking to pay for one. Some I see go as high as $900 and it seems like at that point it would be better to just get the GH3. Ideally I would like to pay around 600-750 for one but is that reasonable anymore?

EDIT: Wow it's funny, i've looked on craigslist before but guess I should check it more, found one on their for 620 for body only.

Steal it.

'cause it certainly isn't worth the prices I've been able to find for it, especially if your focus is video and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera should be available soon. I think after that the prices of the GH's will go down. Then again, I know nothing.

Hi pepper jack - I have a GH2, a GH3 plus a BMPCC on pre-order - but if I was shopping for a camera below $1000 right now, I would get the new Panasonic G6 (as of this post, it is on pre-order at Amazon for June delivery at $749 with the kit lens).

In the side-by-sides I've seen, the G6 is as moire-free as the GH2 - and it has the 1080/60p, wi-fi, 3.5mm mic jack and the focus peaking that the GH2 lacked. Heck, even the GH3 doesn't have focus peaking. Here are the side-by-sides with the hacked GH2 (please watch at 1080p):

The G6 is essentially a less expensive GH3 without the headphone jack, splashproofing, SMPTE time code or high bit rate multiple codecs - but also likely without the GH3's susceptibility to moire :)

Good luck with your decision!

I choose the GH2 over other makes due to it being mirrorless and the sensor is at the front so it'll take just about any lens available with the correct adaptor, plus it can be hacked and there's some great feature on it. I bought mine on ebay in mint condition, after the user used it for one advertisment job. Gami Orbegoso did a good job on Musgo with the GH2 https://vimeo.com/33025136
