are child/teenage actors hard to work with?

I'm looking into doing a project with teenage characters, I've never done any work with child or teenage actors, how hard are they to get and are they easy to work with? I've heard some horror stories about parents and such

I've worked with some amazing child and teen actors with really chill parents, and I've worked with diva child and teen actors with pushy parents, and I've worked with child and teen actors who were amazing, but had pushy parents. It really comes down to a case by case basis, there's not really a hard and fast rule.

Yup - some are great, and really delightful to work with .
Others, not so much.

My director was terrific at auditioning kids, which helped a lot, possibly because she'd been acting since she was their age.

children can be really good to work with, you just need to cast them properly and make sure you learn enough about them in the casting. although don't forget if they are professional child actors or have agents or are part of a union then they can only work so many hours a day and have to have something like a 15 minute break every hour!
