yo. anyone here use Apple Motion? i downloaded the trial, and i'm not sure if i actually want to get it or not. if you've used it, what do you think? worth the money, or what? thanks.
Well it's certainly NOT a plug-n-play sort of deal. It's meant for serious artists with the right background to create visual effects. But yes, Motion is very good stuff. It was used for compositing in LOTR.
You're thinking of shake.Motion is mainly used for Titles, DVD menus, other graphics stuff. I'm not sure how it is for compositing or making explosions.
I've only used Motion at the Apple store and I noticed that even on a dual 2Ghz, it was slow to process actions. Of course, that was with Motion 1. Motion 2 is out now and I don't know if they have made any improvements. Is the demo a full version with all the features for 30 days? Or are some of features locked?
