I saw a western years back on TV and totally forgot the name and when I try and explain it nobody I know has seen or heard of it. It's so illusive I'm starting to think I dreamt it.
It's about a retired gunslinger who lives a quiet life as a blacksmith (or some profession of the like) until he is recognized by some cowboys as the fastest gunslinger in the west. He denies all accusations until he is eventually challenged by the 'fastest' to a duel. The man has no option but to fight again.
I remember a scene where they flick a coin into the air and he shoots it. And at the end he fakes his death so he can continue living in obscurity.
The story of 'A History of Violence' seems to be inspired by this which is why it got me searching for the name of the film.
Anyone?
