Any London writers want a short shot?

I'm in London and wonder if there are short film writers who want to get their shorts on screen. The reason I ask is I am happy to shoot shorts but have typically only shot what I have written with one exception. Naturally, I have also shot a couple of music vids / promos as well.

Are there short film writers around London (or home counties etc...) with shootable shorts who genuinely want to get their shorts on screen? When I say 'shootable,' I mean shorts that do not involve a dozen F15s dogfighting over the houses of parliament! Decent, potential locations, greenscreenable if necessary etc...

Naturally, we need to share 'pre.' One chap (who had never shot a short before) approached me and told me he expected me to do everything in pre and he would just turn up and tell me what to do with the camera! When I told him he would need to assist in scouting locations, he turned white and said that he wouldn't want to do that! So a genuine collaborator willing to share the work would be great.

I am just curious because I would like to try shooting other writers shorts but hey, if this is not the way it works then please excuse my naivety - I'm new to all of this!

EDIT: So thanks to anyone who has shot over an idea or 2 and I would be happy to meet up for a coffee to discuss. As mentioned, if it involves F15s dogfighting over London I'd struggle a bit but the other ideas look amazing!
