Advice working with child actors?

I have my first day of shooting for my feature film this weekend. Just bought all the necessary props, printed up the release forms, and now I'm just sitting here with butterflies in my stomach. Please tell me it's all going to be OK!

Also, the scenes we're shooting this weekend are "home footage" type stuff that will play during the main titles, which involves child actors. Any last minute advice??

Have lots of patience it will take many shots to get the kids to do what you want depending on their ages.

My number one rule when working with kids: NEVER STOP FILMING.

Seriously. Say CUT, but keep that camera going.

1) Helps the kids get used to having the camera on them.

and

2) Inevitably, the best stuff they come up with is when they're just being themselves, goofing or grouching.

Patience, schedule some extra time so you can take breaks... and make it fun. I love shooting with kids, they keep the set playful.
