i have a simple question. i was reading about clerks the movies when i saw buget $27,000 (original)
$230,000 (post) so what is this $230,000 (post) ? budget of post production ?i am sorry it might be a very sime question for you but not for me. you can see this data on the link

I believe in this case the post means after it was sold. But yes it was for post production, mostly audio sweetening.

And blow up to 35mm.. It was shot on 16mm as I recall.

Because this film needed work to be able to be shown on the big screen, so Kevin's budget (the completed film) and the studio's budget (with additional post) were different.

Listening to the commentary on the DVD, Kevin explained that he had to tack on another $27K just for the music licensing.

The rest went to various forms of post production.

Luckily, he never paid anything more than the initial $27K to shoot it. The rest was paid for when the film got picked up.
