These are the kinds of films sought for the 48th Ann Arbor Film Festival,the longest-running showcase of independent, experimental and art-driven films in North America.

All lengths and genres accepted and considered:
experimental, animation, documentary, narrative and music videos.

- More than $20,000 awarded to films in competition
- Qualifying festival for Annual Academy Awards
- Select short films participate on International Traveling Tour

Early deadline: August 17, 2009 = $30
Standard deadline: October 5, 2009 = $40
Late deadline: November 2, 2009 = $50

* Variety magazine recently placed the AAFF in their Top 10 favorite festivals in the world, citing the fest's strong artistic vision and celebration of artists.
* More than 2,600 filmmakers submitted their films for consideration in 2008 from over 45 countries.
* The 2009 traveling AAFF tour will screen select festival films to more than 35 cities across the world.
* Renowned for pioneering cinema, having showcased the early work of thousands of influential artists including: Gus Van Sant, Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, George Lucas, Brian DePalma, Kenneth Anger, Vin Diesel, and Devo.

Love that town. Lived there for many years (not related to U of M, I was a townie).

Talented folk there...especially the AAFF...big news there. My brother won 'Best Michigan Short Under 10 Minutes' at the AAFF around 5 years ago...
