Dabbled? lol. I always shoot film, never dabbled in video, different labs have different prices, but you can expect to pay (depending on lab):
13 - 24 cents per ft. processing
4 cents per foot to prep for video (for video dailies)
18 - 24 cents per foot to transfer to video (for video dailies)
18 cents per foot for a work print, one light.
then answer prints, and so on, depending on how you are finishing, etc ... check your local lab
I would say STOP NOW! PUT DOWN THE FILM, AND WALK AWAY FROM THE HOMEMADE PROCESSING LAB IN YOUR BATHTUB
Seriously, processing is not something you want to "dabble" with. You want to trust someone who's been in the business for many years, and has the proper facility. It's not something you can do at home (or would EVER want to).
Go with a lab if you want perfect results ... but if you're open to possibly bad results while learning a lot more about being self reliant in an industry that rewards that, then do it at home.
