plot 3 act struture - were does subplot fit in

If your screenplay, has a majyor subplot in the film...Where does it feature in the 3 act structure...Example, looking at the main story of the film, there is points which would make up all incident points, plot points etc...but how does a major subplot fit in??? Is the layout of the 3 act structure, take in both Main and Subplot or do a 3 act structure for both, and fit them into the film?

The three act structure is a beginning, a middle and an end (or resolution). So
your subplot should have a beginning, then the middle (2nd act) where most
of the action happens and then an resolution.

These plots overlap; you set up your main plot act one and as that is gong on
you introduce the beginning (act 1) of your subplot. When you weave these
two plots together so they compliment each other you have a much more
engaging story. So actions that happen in the subplot should affect the main
plot. But both should have the 3 acts – a beginning, a middle and an end.
