Unfortunately yes, it was all we had at the time and we were on a tight schedule obviously due to the 24 hour limit

You could say that but we were more excited for having to do the film in 24 hours, we were not so ecstatic when we found out that we had to have the theme of acceptance integrated into the film

I think you need to sort out sound and lighting a bit more before doing well at a festival. It wouldn't need to be perfect but an external microphone would be an absolute must in any film. Sound is one of the biggest problems with no-budget films.
