2.35:1 Cinemascope Matte Layers

I was just screwing around looking for something and thought I might share what little acorns I found with the fair folk of IT this morn.

If you've got Premiere CS5 or better, there's an even easier solution: Create your editing sequence in a 2.40 ratio! No cropping or mattes necessary. For HD, the sequence should be 1920x800. Just toss your original 16:9 footage into the timeline and edit!
 
Another trick in Premiere is that you can do mathematical operation inside the soft.

If your width is X and you want a 1.74:1 aspect for instance, you can put in the height : X/1.74 !
