judging by today's blockbusters,
yea, the "margin for error" was bigger, taking little more chances for more "natural" scripts was reasonable.
so mix that with a young hot Spielberg brought us better movies.
not sure the same Spielberg with these scripts today could have made the same movies.

i don't know your target with the film, so this is just my humble "trailer" opinion.
i think that for the whole premise, it needs to be shorter with less "info".
it reveals quite a lot and after a while i get more than...
nice work for a first short.
post production and sound indeed seem invested.
since you only wanted to try doing a short horror scene,
it's done nicely.
however, the downside for me is that i'm not too interested in the character,
and i only tried focusing on the production quality.

i should consider adding for a 1st time viewer (or English speaking) since i saw it too many times:
for example-
should i add any other titles ? at start, or end?
i thought of adding some "story telling" titles but felt it wasn't...

i wanna test this trailer before i try to crowd fund for completing the short film.
the case is however, more complex since this is a weird story in itself, so i first hope the trailer make interest.
