    camera Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K

Hi all, I have 3 questions: 1. Regarding the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 2.5K, I think the crop factor on the sensor is about 2.3x. I read somewhere that because this camera’s sensor is small, it is very hard to get a cinematic shallow depth of field. This confuses me because I read that long...

    Panasonic GH4 not cinematic enough?

Very good advice indeed. I wonder why most camera companies do Super 35 and not Full Frame. Is it a reason because of cost? For e.g. why can't Panasonic not wake up one day and say "Hey, we are going to make a GH6 camera with a Full Frame". Why are companies not doing this on a large scale? Why...

    Panasonic GH4 not cinematic enough?

I imagine the Micro Four Thirds system is not a bed of roses compared to full frame or quite near full frame I guess, especially where high budget feature films are being made.

    Panasonic GH4 not cinematic enough?

Hello there, I am looking for the lowest cost camera (under $1000) in the used or new market with the below specs. It will be used to study still photography and cinematography: SPECS: 4K or Ultra 4K DSLR mirror or no mirrorless Capable of recording video in RAW or at something slightly similar...

ND filter and other filters - enhancement baked onto image?

Consider the below scenario: Two identical camera of the same brand and model are setup with the same lens (let us assume the camera is an Arri Alexa or Blackmagic URSA Mini). The two cameras are shooting next to each in an outdoor daylight scene. Both cameras are in continuous/steady...

Is there a special 24 fps cinematic monitor for film editing?

I heard some good things about the WD TV; that is a nice process. Kudos to TVs that have the feature to turn off the soap opera effect. It is a pity some projectors don't have that feature. I am happy I have found a workaround by using my computer connected to the projector.

Is there a special 24 fps cinematic monitor for film editing?

AcousticAl and sonnyboo, thanks for your replies to my original post. I lost hope when I did not get a reply and decided to amend the thread to ask another question instead of starting a new thread. AcousticAl, the movies that I played on the home theatre unit as well as the Android TV box unit...

Tokina or Duclos 11-16mm zoom cine lens question

Hi there, regarding the Tokina 11-16mm zoom cine lens, I understand that this lens came first and eventually Duclos copied the concept and made their own which sells for about double the Tokina price. However I looked at test shots and footage for both lens on YouTube and note that both lens...

What if audio post company does not have the software?

Davinci Resolve, the post production coloring suite software, now has the capability to edit video content. Let us assume one is editing a feature film in Davinci Resolve with all the dialogue tracks, foley, sound effects and film music score matched up nicely to the relevant areas with the...

Use only industry cameras to get a major film distributor?

One million is a lot if it is to be paid by the filmmakers making an ultra low budget flick. I assume the said million was paid by the distributor? Not to stray from this point but can an average feature film get some decent theatre ready audio post for $5,000 to $10,000? I know audio post has...

Use only industry cameras to get a major film distributor?

Thank you and all for your posts so far. By the way, 28 Days Later was not 100% shot on the Canon. Arri camera and lenses were used per the below. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/technical?ref_=tt_dt_spec

Use only industry cameras to get a major film distributor?

Blackmagic Design and Panasonic are superb companies that have produced superb cameras over the years, namely the Production Camera 4K and Ursa Mini 4K, 4.6K and Pro from BMD and the GH3, GH4 and GH5 from Panasonic. In terms of cinema lenses, Rokinon has some affordable Cine lenses. This thread...

Would you make a feature film with a camera that has a Micro Four Thirds sensor?

Would you make a feature film with a camera that has a Micro Four Thirds sensor such as the Panasonic GH4 or the Blackmagic Cinema 2.5K Camera? If no, then why? In this example above you will be using Micro Four Thirds lenses such as the Rokinon Micro Four Thirds Cine lenses. Also in this...
