Never buy a laptop... They can't handle heavy duty renderings and will crash. They just suck. Buy a sexy ass desktop. You want 8 cores and 16 gigs of ram. For your budget, you might have to go 4 cores and 8 gigs. That is the bare minimum.

It's hard, expensive, and time consuming to shoot a whole movie. A trailer is only the highlights. It's short, cheap, and entertaining. If it's popular enough, a movie will follow.
I want to help, but I can do limmited things. You don't specify, but I can do various things like add rain/snow/fog to scenes. Some CG animals. Fire and explosions. Lightsabers.

I am recieving quite a bit of hate. I understand if the people have bills to pay. In that case, payment is good. But I believe few people on this forum and in the movie business in general do it for a living. It's difficult.
I would not have anyone involved if they are in it only for money. You want passionate people, not greedy people. Look for fellow filmmakers who will do it for free in order to build their portfolio. If it's a professional thing, you should save up until you can pay everyone, like a studio.
