    12mm budget lens for GH3?

Thanks Bill, I did not know about the 12-32 f3.5, it looks like a pretty nice lens for the price, although I hear it has no manual focus ring. How does it compare to the 14-140 f3.5?

    12mm budget lens for GH3?

Thanks Will, I was already thinking about the Tokina, but I don't want to spend the money on a 100$ focal reducer to end up needing another camera to adjust. I will probably move onto the Metabones Speedbooster for Nikon at some point instead and get some Nikon mount lenses.

    Lens protection

Thanks guys, I really appreciate all of your posts :) I ended up getting a B+H UV filter for my expensive lens and some Marumi filters for the inexpensive lens. Also got a Marumi Super DHG Circular Polarizer at 77mm to use with some single step-up rings for all my lenses. How about humidity...

    12mm budget lens for GH3?

Are there any lenses that cover the 12mm and lower focal range (prime or zoom) that can be bought for less than 500$? The only one I know of is the Rokinon 12mm for m43. I really like the look of the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 on landscapes on a APS-C sensor, I guess an equivalent would be an 8-12mm...

    Audio for Portable Film-Making (Run-and-Gun)

I ended up trying out both the Rode VMP and the Shure VP83. My thoughts: -The Rode sounds warmer and easier to listen to, but does not pick up as much detail -The Shure has a scratchy sound that becomes slightly annoying to listen to. Sounds unprofessional. If I could get rid of the edginess...

Thanks guys, how about polarizers? They seem pretty expensive, can you get a good one for under 30$?

    Lens protection

What do you guys use to protect the lens while shooting? I sometimes use a variable ND filter when outdoors, besides that I don't know what would be optimal for video without altering image quality -UV/Haze filter? Please advise, thanks!

    General Purpose Lens Choice

Considered it, but it would weigh a lot on my camera (811g lens + 177g speedbooster) and I'm doing handheld shooting mostly so a lot of the focal range would be hard for me to handle. Also, I'd have to pay for shipping for both, combined with duties and everything. The extra cost and weight were...

    General Purpose Lens Choice

I could do that to control the light but then the depth of field wouldn't change.. right? :)

    General Purpose Lens Choice

Will the aperture control work with these cheap speedboosters electronically? From what I hear, the cheap chinese canon EF to m43 adapter (if you get an adapter with aperture control) doesn't control the depth of field, closing the iris within the adapter introduces vignetting past f5.6, because...

    General Purpose Lens Choice

Thanks Will, Actually, I don't need a zoom lens anymore :) Dad has the tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens you mentioned (it's made for Canon camera though) for a camera he is not using anymore, and so I just purchased the canon EF to m4/3 adapter. Won't have AF but that should do the trick? I also have a...

    General Purpose Lens Choice

The only problem with the zoom lenses at that price is that I won't be able to do night shoots.

    General Purpose Lens Choice

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a lens for a Panasonic GH3 that I can use for most of my shots on vacation. Here are the requirements: -Budget: Not really a factor here, I was told to buy one lens and use it as often as possible so that's the plan (so I can learn about shot composition)...

    Audio for Portable Film-Making (Run-and-Gun)

Once again, thanks Alcove! I will check it out (I live in Canada though :P) So it's not worth upgrading to the Pro? I read a bit about the GH3 audio and it appears you can't disable the AGC, but you can set the recording volume to lowest which makes the AGC less of an impact...
