Increasing mbps for H264 blu ray

Hey hey hey Any way to increase the maximum 35mbps for H264 blu ray preset that appears in Compressor and Adobe Media Encoder? I need to increase due to banding issues that's appearing when using the preset. I've done a few work around including changing the mulitplexer in ME, but Encore...

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

I'd doubt the color ranges. Just because I saw the same issue popping up for other people on forums... with big budget films (blu rays) they purchased... then again maybe it is. It's the weirdest thing I've seen in a while. Placing a black solid as was mentioned, with RGB values of 1 helped...

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

I'm pretty optimistic about my mix. As the guys who did it have been around a while so I don't believe I'll have any major audio issues with it. That being said it's definitely possible but I'll find out! As for the other settings I'll run some tests and see which one's sound the best...

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

Okay hopefully I have this somewhat straight now and I can have a plan of attack. -So for Lt/Rt if I want stereo I use it. So if I want to make a blu ray or DVD for submission purposes to film festivals, and I'm not sure if they'll have a 5.1 surround set up or not, then I would use my Lt/Rt...

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

I guess the 5.1 for a DCP won't matter because they'll be handling this. The discrete WAV files to the DCP. So really I think I'm living in the world of creating the DVD, Blu Ray and online copy. Just FYI for whoever wants to know.. haha.

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

So what's the LtRt for then? What situation would I use it? So essentially it's already been compressed and if I transcode to ac3 I'll be losing further quality? Or is there another reason I shouldn't be using it for DVD and Blu Ray? What about exporting a Quicktime for the web (Vimeo), I...

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

I figured it out.. reading other forums.. Apparently Samsung has this thing where if certain settings are not above a certain value (for brightness, contrast, etc.) the display shuts off, giving that deep black. I literally had to raise the brightness level by "1" from 45 to 46 to have it stop...

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

Hey G, All I have is the wav Lt/Rt and 5.1 discretes. I don't have a DD transcode from that (correct me if I'm wrong there.) So talking to the mixer he said I have to transcode to ac3 for authoring. Which seems possible using Media Encoder or Encore, or even Compressor. But there are...

Audio settings for Blu ray / DVD

Hey everybody, The post learning curve continues.... Authoring Blu Ray and DVD's from Encore. I have an Lt/Rt mix and a 5.1 mix. Anyone have any idea how to properly get these files into Encore for playable options on the DVD/Blu Ray? I'm exporting the h.264 blu ray from Premiere, but I'm...

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

Hey ItDonned I tried the 16 on R,G,B. And it seems to avoid having that dip effect. Which is good. But you don't get that nice black anymore... which sucks. I dont have a blu ray player, so I'll have to dig through some old dvds to see if I can dig one up. Maybe I should add a black solid...

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

I should also mention that that's correct. It only seems to be doing this when I put the .mov in full screen mode from my laptop (running into TV through HDMI). If I keep it in non full screen mode it doesn't do this dipping to black thing.

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

Thanks for the response. I checked out the settings and it does have a dynamic contrast, but it's "off".... Not sure what else could be causing it on the TV settings, or if it's actually always on no matter the options. But I tried throwing a black solid in Resolve over the gaps in footage...

Cut to blacks and a TV issue?

Hey all, More questions about some small technical issues before finalizing my project. 1. Noticed when viewing on a flatscreen TV yesterday that whenever I cut to black in the short, or even when my titling fades to another name, the TV was dropping the black levels to COMPLETE BLACK. It...

    White flicker in AE

I'll take a look how many frames it is and give it a try. It's 23.98fps Progressive. I'll play around with it and see what I can do to smooth it out. So that would give me changes in steps of about 10.6... does the 120 frames long still hold true for that?

Better to compress from Prores 4444 or 422?

For sure Jax. I actually just put it up on withoutabox... and it looks like crap.. haha.. So much pixelation and banding. I think I'm going to start submitting via DVD instead of the online screener. The 2GB limit is a killer. Hopefully they take that into consideration when viewing your...

    White flicker in AE

Hey all, Anybody know how to avoid the white flicker/strobe effect that happens when you have a slow fade in from white? It's not horrible, but definitely noticeable. The work was done in After Effects. I dropped the white to 95, but not sure what else I can do to get rid of this? Is it...
