I don't know if it has been said but the T4i is lacking on Magic Lantern until it gets a firmware up date to work with. The T3i is a good choice. I would have bought that but went with the T4i (same price on T-day) just for the resale value. I am willing to wait for the ML.

Go with the T4i for portraits. It has a better auto focus system and touch screen. From what I understand the auto focus system comes in handy on short depth of field shots. If you watch Amazon you can pick up the the T4i for the price of a T3i.

One bad thing about the T4i is the Magic Lantern Hack is not there yet for it.

Can you make the money with the camera you have? Buy whatever tool has the most potential for making money. Is it harder to borrow a camera or a car? If you can let your work pay for your camera setup. Might be worth a try to trade videoing of a wedding for a car.
