Yes, very helpful. I think my problem is I don't understand the importance of sensor size. I've always wondered why sensor size matters. I'm gonna read up on it. Looks like I'll be better off hanging on to my money a little while longer!
Thanks!
I'm in the market for a camcorder but having a tough time deciding on whether I should get one or just wait. Right now I have my eyes set on this JVC. It's $1300 at B & H Photo. I'm gonna use it mainly to do movies and music videos. The main reason I want this one is because the price is right...
Okay, thanks!! I don't have any external microphones, just using the audio from the camera and hope to clean it up nicely in post (I will invest in a mic sooner or later  ). In the meantime I should probably just find someone with a announcer type voice

So tell me what you think of the teaser for a web show I am producing. Do you like the concept? How's the animation and editing? Dialogue is cheesy, yes :)
Bring on your thoughts!
I know the audio is bad which is why I created this post...
I am trying to achieve a stage announcer effect in my voice. Any advice on how to do this in pro tools? I've played around with some of the audiosuite plugins but I'm not getting my desired effect
Thanks
Weather graphic I created for my live production class. My classmates and I are doing a newscast and I was put in charge of weather.

32K for this school and I have loans from other colleges I've attended. I'm not too worried about all the debt because my career will be worth it. I don't plan on paying off loans for the rest of my life. I believe in myself enough to know that when I get my company started and running that I'll...
It's good. Classes are good. Lots of hands on. The problem with my school is the lack of areas [in and around the school] to shoot class projects. The soundstages/classrooms are a pretty decent size but we can't do everything in there! Not a huge campus but we make the best of what we got which...
Good video. Wow, I really like that XF100. I've read reviews about the XA10 and people seem to dislike the touchscreen. I have a feeling that will get on my nerves as well. But the price is soooooo right
Ohhhh decisions decisions...
Thanks everybody.
Ok, so forget the photography for a moment...because I've been doing further research. I mentioned in a previous post to this thread that I'm a film student and would like to create tv shows and edit. Well, I've been looking at camcorders now and I came across the canon XA10...
Let's use a short film as an example (or do I need to be more specific than that?)
Basically I want lights that'll properly light a scene without having editing difficulties in post. But I guess proper lighting of the scene depends on the person setting up the lights.
Actually I saw a pair...
Is softbox lighting a good source of lighting for videos? Would you use it as a start?
I'm [almost] ready to invest in some lights, but with a limited budget, I've been settling on softbox lights
