    stock footage

I am looking for stock footage of screaming fans of old bands such as the Beatles or Bill Haley type groups as well as dance floor footage of those same eras. Since I bring up the topic, is there a good source for general stock footage?

    sound sound recording

... the crew will be 10 people at the most, there are sound recording packages through this rental place but it does not say exactly what it includes. I just want to make sure that it will include everything that I need. Most of the film is in a vast field(hopefully not near a main road)...

    sound sound recording

Hello, there is a place in my town which rents out equiptment. I am wondering what I will all need to record clean sound to make sure they have it to rent. I will probably be shooting on a 3ccd mini dv camera. What is the usual technique for getting crisp dialogue on a long shot? Thanks.

    what format, what format?

I was going to apply for a grant, but if the camera is reasonable enough I would probably buy one. What do you mean by 1/3" camera? A large portion of the film would be in a vast field outside a barn. What is it when you want to blur out the foreground or the background? Thanks.

    what format, what format?

Hello, I started corresponding with a local who has lots of experience behind the camera about a short film I am trying to put together. I told him I was going to buy a digital or dv camera and use that but he said that the depth control and exposure latitude or something will lack. I have...

Hello, I talked to someone in the lead of a production company and he said that short film festivals are starting to not acccept the digital format anymore....why is that?

    lighting lighting

All this advice is priceless, thanks. Another thing I wonder is where the DOP's job stops and the director's begins. I ask this because I am not a terribly commanding person and am inexperienced. I want the DOP to have some personal expression in the film but I do not want to let my vision...

    lighting lighting

How would I go about asking someone at a TV station? Could I be open about it or would I need to keep covert so no executives seen me snooping around? Do you guys find one of the hardest parts of making a film working around everyone's schedules?

    lighting lighting

... I do not feel trashed, I know I am inexperienced, one short film in school is not very much experience. I agree it would be a good idea to start looking for a DOP as soon as possible. To get someone experienced it would have to be someone who is doing it simply because they like my idea...

    lighting lighting

... I would be shooting on digital camera preferably. There are a decent amount of wide shots, I was thinking of getting six lights, which would cost about $6300 for a month of so. I would definately want some people who had made films before in specific roles of production, but with a grant...

    lighting lighting

hello, I am new to making independent films, I made a live action short in my animation school and I have wanted to do more ever since. I have a grant almost completed except for a few technical items in my budget. I called a place that rents lights and what I thought would be a simple answer...
