Not touched DSLR, I've always thought of them as digital cameras for stills rather than movies! But a 4k price tag for a C100 is way out of budget!

Hi, Im currently writing for a documentary I wish to take part in this year, but I wish to know what camera to use? I've used Cannon XL1 / XL2's in the past but they are only SD. What's a good alternative for HD? Or are the above acceptable still?

Hi guys, thanks for replys! As for mini dv, you say that jackass uses this format but how comes they don't have the 'home video' look? Also what do MTV use to film? MiniDV? I understand it's what you can afford, but what's the best camera/format for HD? Thanks!
