Have a problem with using V.O.

I use V.O. because the character is not, off screen, they are in a different location. I'm not too crazy with the "INTERCUT - TELEPHONE CONVERSATION". The reason I find this weak is because everything happening on screen SHOULD BE important to the story. Dialogue is important but the...

    First big film?

Get a script first. Good luck.

Is this allowed? (Re: Continuity Editing)

I wanna say 20 degrees is alright but I would go with 30 degrees just to be safe.

    Style & Look Vs. Budget

I was going to say his/her first post is contradictory but after reading his/her it three times I finally got what they are saying. He/Her are making a statement at the beginning and then posing a question next (in a sense and ironically with no question marks). Mainly we should at a early...

    Style & Look Vs. Budget

I agree with this, but I do understand what this guy is saying. I was told once by a fella who helped with props and consulting work for films (sorry, don't remember his name), "Learn one thing and learn it well." The same could be said about a style and if it clicks then go with it (examples...

    What would you do?

If a bad movie, then I would only pursue money if you really need it. But I thank you for the link so I can write down the name of the con artist. I'll be sure to always pass the info along to others too. I hate jackasses like this bitch you worked with.

Hello! How to get that "look" on your films and home videos?

Or better yet, a spot meter which I'm still looking for a used one at a really good deal. :pop:

    The Date

There is nothing wrong with being artsy-fartsy and I recommend trying to push that. I do think this could be an interesting visual film but I think the topic has been over done in music videos, film, TV, lectures and other media. But trying to figure out a new twist on this is not a bad idea...

    Baga'a - Short script

A neat little piece. Good job.

    The Date

I'm not sure that you challenged me with this story. It felt like something I've read, seen or discussed before in my past. I think you could also tell the same story and have people understand it without the narration.

    Script Doctors

Thanks Buddy for taking the time to explain. Like directorik I had not heard of that before and for me it's not as big of a deal breaker (not sure for others out there though). As long as some action accompanies the slug before the bottom of the page I'm cool with that. But, I do like how you...

    Script Doctors

I agree with everything here but not too sure what you mean by this. Please explain the reasoning and if possible what page this occurs in the script which is posted. I'm not saying you're wrong but just want a bit more explanation what is exactly wrong in the script with this quote. Thanks.

favorite Top 5 Favorite Films of All Time?

What you said is ironic in a way. Last night I was hanging with some friends and we were talking about a friend of ours named Dave. Dave's uncle asked if he wanted to come over to watch them film a movie in his house. Dave asked him, "What kind of movie?" He responded, "A romantic comedy."...

favorite Top 5 Favorite Films of All Time?

 Yeah, Kids is a great film too but Gummo came together in perfect harmony (no pun intended - hint, look at the director's name). Like I said in my original post, it's not for everyone. As for The Bad News Bears (the original), since the addition of PG-13 in the 80's we will never see...

Seperate audio vs recording straight to dv tape.

Thanks ROC, looking at some of the reviews it seems like these are a good deal. I was going to get Sennheiser but hell, peeps are really giving this model high praise. Again, thanks and I will check around my town to see if anyone has them or I will have to wait to order them online. Sucks...

Very Low Budget Lighting Method for Shooting at Night

Cheapest? Shot during the day and use a blue filter on the lens or in your matte box. Might need to tweak during post but sometimes this can come out effective. I would do some tests first to see if you get the effect you want.
