Greetings from Norway. Need help starting up.

Welcome UlrikS! My first suggestion is to get a camera and start filming something. It doesn't have to be an expensive camera, heck it can be a cell phone. The best way to learn how to do something is try to do it. As for books, there are a ton. If you go to seach on this site, and look...

    Hello and some questions

From my experience, that's normal. I just shot a commercial for an Amazon contest, and up until the time that I packed my camera, and went to the set to shoot, I was trying to think of reasons not to do it...I'm not going to win anyway, the actor flaked on me and I had to go with a second...

    Hello and some questions

Messing with retirement money is very risky, especially in today's economy. Getting investors for a short film is tough in any economy. The potential for making money from a short is pretty tight. I don't want to say impossible, but very tight is probably an understatement. Before finding...

    Upfront for Agent?

They work for a percentage. When they sell the work, they get your check, take out anywhere from 10 to 25 percent (whatever you agree to and sign the contract for), and send you the rest. They shouldn't ask for money up front, and if they do, it will be a small amount 100 bucks or so as a...

    Wal-Mart Processing Re-visited?

I checked the Walmart website, and they say nothing about film developing at all. You might contact customer service at http://photos.walmart.com/customerservice And secondly, never think that you're bugging anyone. Especially when you did a search of the site yourself, and have an update...

watch Nacktes Fleish (Barenaked Flesh) Trailer

Nice job, great music, and I learned something too! I was wondering why it was in Swedish, when you're from Finland!?! Now I know that 5.5 percent of the Finish population speaks Swedish as a first language. Geez, that probably means that you speak three languages...and I have trouble with...

Working with JVC GY-HD250U and need some advise.

I bought a JVC GY-HD110U about a year ago for a project that didn't get done...then there was another project that also didn't get done. I finally broke it out this week for a project that DID get done (finally). While the 250 is slightly different, the advice that I can give you is that you...

    Saving Private Ryan

Rogypro...don't get me wrong, Ryan is a good movie, just not THAT good! And I hate to break it to you, but today's military isn't your Dad's or GrandDad's military. For the most part Technology has changed things a lot (not to take anything away from those that serve!). In any case, thanks...

    Saving Private Ryan

I feel the same way. Very tight scene. As is the entire film. 16th best ever? Nah. I wouldn't even give it the best war film. That would go to Black Hawk Down (and of course Horror of War would get a close second...sorry Sonnyboo). But I'd certainly be proud to have my name attached to...

    Young filmmaker

My advice is go with the sony or JVC, or even the Canon. Waiting is the worst idea, as in the time that you wait, you can work on your 'craft', rather than sitting and waiting (I know, you have other things to do, but film wise, in my book, you're better off doing rather than anything else)...
