    FCP Cross Dissolve

This is a really stupid problem but it has been really pissing me off lately. In FCP 6 I have a clip and I split it and I try to apply a cross dissolve between the two. The transition appears in the timeline and I can edit it and everything. The only problem is when I hit play, no cross...

    What do I need??

I'm looking into buying a shotgun mic for my couple of camcorders in desperate hopes of improving sound quality. I have had my eyes on this one: http://www.amazon.com/Gradient-Compact-Shotgun-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B0002TTN3Y Is this a good choice for the price? Will it improve my sound...

    Transition Issues

In FCP I'm making a little documentary thing. When using a cross fade, the clip being faded to or others in the frame tend to change in quality or something. Is this just a computer issue or will it still exist on DVD? And if so how can I fix this? Thanks

    Dialogue help

I'm working with some friends on a short film (extremely low budget with a couple camcorders and some decent homemade equipment. We are always able to piece everything together pretty well minus the just dialogue scenes. I know most of this is because of our definite sub-pro acting skills...

    Too Much Noise

I'm working on a short film on FCP 6.0.1 (hopefully soon I'll upgrade to 3-5) and am using a homemade track dolly for a few shots. The dolly runs really smoothly and I like it a lot, except for the noise. When I speed it up, there is the ever-present "rolling noise" made from the skateboard...
