how should I post my movie?

I'd love to get 240 views in four months...that's a lot of views for a 17 minute film! Perhaps more than if it showed on the big screen in a regional festival. Let me ask you...what did you do to get those 240 views?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzE1bLE1T2Q Wanted to use a macro adapter in the opposite way, to make a scene super blurry, and came up with this. Happy Fall! It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Deferred Payment, People vs. George Lucas

Couple of interesting posts about the deferred payment contract for the guy who did the artwork for "The People vs. George Lucas." First, the original editorial: An Open Letter to The Director of The People vs. George Lucas And the even more illuminating response: A Response from Director...

Interpol - Lights (by Charlie White)

I got to see Sherman's "Film Stills" in person! Amazing work. That experience informed my decision to make movies.

I'm with you, Flicker. I'd love to make something like this someday. Sometimes the less I understand upon first viewing the happier I am. Makes me dive in a second/third/fourth time.

    rant about "art"

What Alcove said. The word "art" means nothing by itself. Works of art can be anything. There is a lot of shit out there, it's true. What's amazing to me is the amount of things I used to consider shit that I now love, like John Cage. Or Henry Miller. Or Peter Brotzmann. Or Wilco. My advice to...

    American Horror Story

From the tv.com review: I spotted all of these (and loudly pointed them out with my wife) except for Saw and Kill Bill. There were so many, and they were so obvious, that I think they were neither careless copies nor intended as traditional homage. Rather, I think they were winks directly at...

Good short films with only 1 actor

Several Twilight Zone episodes, most notably "The Invaders" with Agnes Moorehead. Also notable for having nearly no dialog.

editing Converting H.264. Is Cineform that great?

I can't answer your question (I use Cineform, but on a PC), but I can say the folks at Cineform would probably give you an objective answer. I've dealt with them on many occasions and they aren't car salesmen. They'll most likely give you honest answers. Give them a call.
