    Hiii from Melbourne

Hi Yolanda, I'm living in Indonesia now. Bali, to be exact. But I might go travelling in Java soon. It's a pretty cool country... Probably safer than Europe, great food, lots of mysteries.

It's got a cool feel. The audio is mixed slightly off. Can't explain why. The guitar solo is minimal, good wah....

Making a Horror Film on no budget?

I think I said this in another thread: Horror on a budget might be hard. Chiller on a budget would be doable. Check out 'Don't look now'- sure, it's medium budget, and shot in Venice. But they conjure a great atmosphere but show you little. It gave me nightmares for years. Haha. I'll...

    The Greatest Music Ever Composed

I'm always looking for good classical music. Are there any decent royalty free versions of this out there? I used to have a Dvorak CD. I loved a couple of the tracks.. Really upbeat and energetic.

archived-videos Movie trailer for "A Playas Web

True. It's a shame so many Indie films leave this out. Once they get it right it can really work. Watch Pi the Movie with the sound turned off, and it looks pretty cheap. Turn on the sound and it's hard to believe they shot it on film for 60,000. Aronofsky spent a lot of time building a...

Joining 2 or more AVIs together with zero quality loss? How?

Thanks for your answers everyone. Exactly, except mine is a 25 minute piece of crap that I hope to extend to feature length at some point. I will probably do what you suggested, as most answers on this thread say there's no quality loss. I come from an lo-fi analogue music background, so I...

Does anyone hold a copyright over the phrase "Resistance is Futile."?

Yes, you can choose a royalty free commercial license. Works out about 20 Euros per page. A lot cheaper than a pro narrator. So I heard. Thx. 25 minute cut should be in the screening room in a week or so.

Joining 2 or more AVIs together with zero quality loss? How?

Memory issues. I only have a Gig. There are some complicated parts with a dense soundscape and fast, flickering cuts. My VAIO has a difficult time rendering these. Once the section gets longer than 10 minutes my computer slows down. If there's something I'm missing please tell me.

Does anyone hold a copyright over the phrase "Resistance is Futile."?

Thanks ZSteve! Copyright law brings me out in cold sweats. I'm already using Emma from Ivona. She's cheap, upper-class English, pretty, and did a hell of a job on the casting couch. http://www.ivona.com * Later on, we might need a bit of voicing because there's some phrases a computer...

Does anyone hold a copyright over the phrase "Resistance is Futile."?

I'm hoping to use a sampled narrator repeating this phrase in a section of the documentary on social change that I'm cutting together. It's improved drastically from the piece of **** I posted in the screening room a month ago. Anyway... I want to use the phrase a few times. It's a 'popular...

Joining 2 or more AVIs together with zero quality loss? How?

As my project gets more and more complicated I'm having to split it into smaller chunks. No problem there... The question is, when I want to stick 10 or more AVI's together again, what's the best way to do it with zero quality loss? Sure, I could render them all, and then import them back into...

    Kodachrome S8 officially done

Thanks. I guessed it had something to do with complicated processing. I just couldn't figure out why they were stopping if they had so many orders. Heh. Film stock, and the loving way directors and DP's talk about it, fascinates me... I don't think film will ever really die. With all the...

archived-videos "Antihero" trailer rough cut -- seeking opinions

Last thing: If you had a title near the start that said: "Will Pork Rind keep using his powers to break and enter?" ...or similar words to that effect, you could sort out 70 per cent of the trailer's problems in 2 mins. * You might not be into titles. But that's the only real question you...

    Filming In Bali

Living there now. I mainly mind my own business, editing etc. I work on my own or with a couple of friends, informally. I have a few numbers of reliable studios. It's a pretty open culture and you can find what you like. Maybe try Denpasar university. If I can help, please let me know.

    Kodachrome S8 officially done

I grew up with digi so I don't see the impact of this, but I'm sure it's a big deal to people who've been in film a while. Is it just not worth the money to process this stuff any more? If they had the knowhow + integrity, could an Asian processing plant set up and make it cost effective? Or...

    archived-videos The Viewer

Epic. I'd watch it too. Perfectly cut as well. If the whole of Anti-hero is this good you're going to have a minor cult following. What did you do the titles with?
