Does a short devalue a feature

I think a great way to incorporate shorts alongside features is to use the shorts not as segments that together would create a feature but use these shorts as a way to introduce the audience to the world in which the feature would take place.

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

3rd Draft Here is the third draft. Hopefully have fixed some issues that others had picked up on. Thank you for your feedback and look forward to more :)

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

Thanks, I like that angle it makes it kinda like a secret society and the only way you gain access to the knowledge held by that society is if you become one of them :) I see your point. This gives me something to think about. In all honesty the response to this part of your feedback was going...

What parts do you think it's lacking in? :)

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

I feel that flashbacks are better if they are just quick enough for a piece of information to be conveyed to the audience and the character experiencing the flashback. But I think I can see where you're coming from by suggesting it's unnecessary. Originally he was supposed to be asking for...

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

I might have fixed that in the second draft. There's more with the Preacher in the latest draft.

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

Thanks again Chimp, appreciate it! I have been thinking about some other things I can incorporate into this script to give it a bit more of an impact. Well, onto the next draft :D

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

Thanks Chimp for your feedback, no harm in throwing out ideas :) I need to work more on the character of the female vampire to define exactly what type of vampire she is within the context of vampires in this story. So far there's just the quick flashback the Preacher has to when he sold her...

story Stories "starting on page 1"

In Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho the story starts straight away. The first thing you see is a catalyst for what eventually follows. But the death of the character we all thought was the protagonist happens early in the film, so does the story end with her death? No. Despite the fact she's dead the...

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

Thank you both for your feedback, it's appreciated. This is a very early draft but I feel that if I can get feedback at this early stage then it's going to make further drafts better. To answer your question Fantasy yes this is the full short as it currently sits. I want to make a career out of...

    Actor's Contracts

Thanks Directorik. I'm not needing to use any of this information at the moment but it's good to know for future reference :)

    Actor's Contracts

That would be great thanks. PM sent to you :) @Sweetie, thanks very much for providing that information. I always thought that there were certain guidelines in actor's contracts as to what they could ask to be included not that they can pretty much stipulate what they want - whether they get...

    Actor's Contracts

Thanks for your response Directorik. I'm wondering if there's anything that an actor can or can't stipulate in their contract. For example are they able to have a clause that says they have veto over who else is cast in the film? Can they pretty much ask for anything to be included in the contract?

    Actor's Contracts

For those who have worked with actors who are professional actors, or for anyone who has worked on a film that may know - what are the types of things that an actor can have in their contract that stipulate what they want out of the production or how they want to be treated, what they will or...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Yeah it makes it a better representation of Jesus because it doesn't try to dance around things.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Just watched The Last Temptation of Christ. Wow, what a film. I am not religious but I liked this movie because it portrays Jesus as a man who has sinned and is not afraid to confess it, he feels anger and frustration, he trashes a marketplace - all these things and more make Jesus seem more...

Revenge of the Vampire (short script)

Revenge of the Vampire: 3RD DRAFT Revenge of the Vampire The third draft is attached in a new response to this thread. A tale of a Vampire's revenge against a man of faith who betrayed her. A different approach to the Vampire in terms of mythology. The concept behind this is classic Hammer...

    critique short screenplay critique please

The dialogue felt real. The story had me wondering where it was going. It starts of as something cliche but when you view it as a whole the cliche aspect works because it goes against what you'd normally expect. I'd definitely put this into production because I feel that this would be an...
