    Inspiration for my first screenplay

Well, thanks for your input, I guess, but that did not answer my question. I created this thread asking for film recommendations, where you follow one protagonist throughout the entire film. You basically told me a few good notes on screenwriting, and I appreciate that, but I've already read...

    Inspiration for my first screenplay

I'm working on my first screenplay. Not in the matter of potentially selling it, but merely as practice. The story revolves around a single protagonist and his experiences as a nightclub promoter in London. Therefore, I'm asking for people's recommendations for movies, where you primarily...

    Best Screenwriting Books

Currently reading 'Wired For Story' by Lisa Cron. It's mostly written for novel writers, but it also has a lot of references to films and other story teling mediums, where the same rules apply. Much recommended.

    Stealing/being inspired by ideas/events online

I sense that simple answer was provided to answer a stupid question. But oh well if it's that simple, then all good. Guess I'm just scared of plagiarism and it relating to inspiration sources.

    archived-videos Double feature

I'm really uncertain if TheAuteur is a troll or not. Constantly complains, refuses to takes advice, complete ignorance all around. This is the guy that asked for a 7 digits investment in an older thread, bragging about how good his shortfilm was and how it would make all invenstors drool. And...

    Stealing/being inspired by ideas/events online

I'm curious, when is it considered stealing, when you apply a scenario onto your screenplay? I like to read stories and opinions online, and sometimes, like on Reddit for instance, people tell the most fascinating real life scenarios that have happened to them. Is it ok to apply those kind of...

    archived-videos Urban clothing promo

Maybe I made my comment confusing. I was the director. It was a 1-man production by me, but the owner of the clothing (who isn't seen in the video) basically acted as the producer, and he sort of demanded the first clip so I just went with the flow. And thank you!

    archived-videos Urban clothing promo

Thanks for the feedback. I completely agree with the first image. It was the owner of the clothing that wanted it to begin like that to give it "street/urban"-vibe. I tried to convince him otherwise, arguing that it might be a bit offensive to non-smokers, but he argued that smoking is looked...

Failure at writing a screenplay, whats the reason?

I'm curious, when you guys say "write everyday", what type of writing are you referring to? Do you start a short film script and continue on it for a few days till it's finished, or do you practice with screenplays/improv writing etc?

    Books about life

I am an aspiring director and I'm looking for books that can expand my knowledge about life and human psychology. Anything ranging from Socrates to Dale Carnegie will do. I'm not asking for advice on books about filmmaking itself. The best director's always seem to have a fundamental...

    Tips to small bird scene

Greetings, For my new shortfilm I've a scene, where a guy saves a bird he finds at the side of a road, which eventually defines him to become a doctor and save lives. However, I'm unsure about how this could be done on a no-budget film. I think it can be relatively to create the part of a...

    archived-videos My 2nd short film- "Assassin"- BMPC4k

Did I completely misunderstand the short? From reading these comments I get the feeling that the protagonist and voice-over is the same guy. But after I watched it (without reading comments here), I thought the protagonist and the voice-over were two different people, and that was the whole...

    archived-videos Art on the Road

I'm not exactly sure I understood this correctly. Is the filming completed or are you asking for filmmakers to contribute with footage from their own country? Anyhow I love the concept. That being said - it looks amazing so far! Trailer is a little too long for my taste, but it seems like the...

archived-videos The Art Of Being Old - Short Doc

I'm sorry for bumping such an old thread, but I'm a bit saddened about not getting any response. This is my most praised work by my network, however that's just in Denmark. I would love to get some foreign feedback, even though the video might not be as catchy with subtitles.

    Desperately need some advce/guidance

I understand where the OP is coming from. I think the main reason to go to film school nowadays is not to learn film itself, but for networking and practicing film as a team. I can relate a lot to OP's post. I've personally made some shorts, two music videos, a documentary, some...
